The first Hunger Games movie was an absolute smash hit and helped (along with X-Men: First Class) skyrocket Jennifer Lawrence to superstardom. So it only made sense that Hollywood would want to adapt the other two Hunger Games books, Catching Fire and Mockingjay, into movies as well. Three of them. That math checks out, right?
The Hunger Games sequels do raise some questions though. Like why is Snow flaunting around the victors at the risk of a revolution if silencing them would be more effective? Why is Katniss suddenly obsessed with Peeta? Is Mockingjay Part 1 just about how bad of an actress Katniss Everdeen is? Was President Snow’s big strategy to have an underfed prisoner try to strangle Katniss? How did the Capitol not think of guarding the tunnels that run through the entire underground of the city? Why do the middle two movies just kind of end abruptly?
