8Have I been sleeping on this game? I'm not the biggest fan of point and click adventure games, but I kept getting recommendations to play The Case Of The Golden Idol, and you know what? I'm glad I am now!
Better late than never, I suppose!
This game is a great detective game. The gameplay is told in tableau with a still scene depicting the moment of someone's passing - very much in the style of Return of the Obra Dinn. As the detective you are responsible for identifying the people in the scene, and piecing together what has happened to the unfortunate soul in each chapter.
We're only a couple of chapters in, and already I can see some threads developing across chapters - this promises to be a great game, I think!
