Review of Toxikk, an arena first-person shooter by German developer Reakktor. The game is built on Unreal Engine 3 and has finished development after being in Early Access. No loadouts, no classes, frag like it's 1999.

The biggest problem with Toxikk is the lack of marketing and hype for the game. We've been hearing about the return to old-school arena shooters for a while, and with games like Quake Champions and Diabotical on the horizon, how will Toxikk perform in the video game market?

The Initiative is a review and analysis series on newly-released PC games. The series will show my first impressions of the gameplay and features at face value, and analyze its longevity in the market and community.
