17Jimmy Greaves was one of the great goalscorers that England had ever seen. He racked up incredible numbers for Chelsea and Tottenham, with a brief spell in Italy thrown in for good measure in between. However, one of the lasting memories of Jimmy Greaves’ career remains the fact that he missed out on the latter stages of England’s 1966 World Cup campaign, which ended in glory for England, but ended Greaves’ England career.
