KOF94 Re-boutプロローグ
2004年12月28日にKOF10周年記念作品としてPS2で発売された『'94』のリメイク作品。アーケードゲームとしては稼動していない。
チームエディットが可能になるなど、『'94』からシステムの細部に手が加えられている。また、エディット専用キャラクターとして『'95』の性能をベースにした柴舟が登場し、さらに最終ボスのルガールも使用可能になった。『'94』とは違い、1P側のデフォルトカーソルが日本チーム(京)、2P側が韓国チーム(チョイ)になっている。
グラフィックを完全ハイレゾ化でリニューアルしている。背景も3Dで描かれた新規のものに一新されており、『'95』以降も含む歴代SNKキャラクターが多数登場する他、攻撃避けの際には画面全体の視点が一瞬ズレる演出が起こる。キャラクターイラストは、オリジナル版『'94』の森気楼に代わり、ヒロアキが担当した。
なお、本作はネオジオ版『'94』も「ネオジオモード」として同時収録している。ネオジオモードでは原作仕様のためチームエディットはできずルガールと柴舟も使用できないが、リメイク版同様にゲームセレクトの一部変更や基本操作の説明削除などの改訂が加えられている。本作以降、PS2版のリメイク作品では原作のネオジオ版も同時収録しているケースが多々ある。レイティングは全てCERO：B（12才以上対象）。
2015年1月21日にはPS3向け配信サービス「PlayStation 2 アーカイブス」の一環として配信された。


KOF94 Re-bout Prologue
A remake of "'94" released on PS2 on December 28, 2004 to commemorate KOF's 10th anniversary. It is not in operation as an arcade game.
The details of the system have been improved since "'94", such as the ability to team edit. In addition, Shibafune, who is based on the performance of "'95", has appeared as an edit-only character, and the final boss Lugal has also become available. Unlike "'94," the default cursor on the 1P side is the Japanese team (Kyo), and the default cursor on the 2P side is the Korean team (Choi).
The graphics have been completely renewed to high resolution. The backgrounds have also been completely redesigned to be drawn in 3D, and many past SNK characters, including those from "'95" onwards, appear, and when dodging attacks, the perspective of the entire screen shifts for a moment. The character illustrations were done by Hiroaki instead of Morikirou from the original version "'94".
This work also includes the Neo Geo version "'94" as ``Neo Geo Mode.'' Neo Geo mode is based on the original specifications, so team editing is not possible and Lugal and Shiba Shu cannot be used, but like the remake version, revisions have been made such as some changes to the game selection and deletion of explanations of basic operations. Since this work, there have been many cases in which remakes of the PS2 version have also included the original Neo Geo version at the same time. All ratings are CERO: B (for ages 12 and older).
It was distributed on January 21, 2015 as part of the PS3 distribution service ``PlayStation 2 Archives''.
