The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Islands v2.5 (Z3 Hack) Playthrough - Episode 8: Ice Palace
A playthrough of a completed Zelda III romhack named, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Islands. This hack was actually a hack that started in 2004/2005 by SePH as The Legend of Zelda: Lyra Islands, but he abandoned the project after about a month or two of development along with some of his other hacks later because he would work with Euclid to create the first completed Zelda III hack, The Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds. This hack was left abandoned for about a decade, until 2015, where Darklink7884 picked it up as a project of his. As he would develop the hack more and more, the game got drastically changed from how it was originally, so the game was renamed to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Islands. Eventually in 2020, the game got released as v2.0, and soon it would be updated more and more until it got to v2.5 in 2021, which is the final version as of recording this playthrough.
In this episode, I go around the overworld and grab many Heart Pieces before I head into the seventh dungeon, the Ice Palace. The Ice Palace is kind of one of those "meh" dungeons for me personally, mostly because there are some sections of the dungeon I don't like. For example the part where you have to walk across the ice in a weird path is something i didn't really like since you can't really go too fast in that section. There's also some other rooms where you have to kill all of the enemies in that I feel like are kind of tedious, and the fact that there's another flying floor tile room you have to wait for is just kinda meh to me. There were some parts that I did like, but overall I think this dungeon could use some improvements. Anyhow, in the next episode I will be going through the next dungeon, Turtle Rock.
