The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Islands v2.5 (Z3 Hack) Playthrough - Episode 2: East Palace
A playthrough of a completed Zelda III romhack named, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Islands. This hack was actually a hack that started in 2004/2005 by SePH as The Legend of Zelda: Lyra Islands, but he abandoned the project after about a month or two of development along with some of his other hacks later because he would work with Euclid to create the first completed Zelda III hack, The Legend of Zelda: Parallel Worlds. This hack was left abandoned for about a decade, until 2015, where Darklink7884 picked it up as a project of his. As he would develop the hack more and more, the game got drastically changed from how it was originally, so the game was renamed to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Islands. Eventually in 2020, the game got released as v2.0, and soon it would be updated more and more until it got to v2.5 in 2021, which is the final version as of recording this playthrough.
In this episode, I grab a bunch of items and Heart Pieces before heading to the second dungeon of the game, the East Palace. A lot of this dungeon still resembles the original Eastern Palace, but I actually do really like how it is changed in this game. While there isn't anything too amazing in this dungeon, I actually do think I like this dungeon more than the original Eastern Palace. The only thing I don't really like is the tile room where you have to wait for the tiles to come out of the ground, but that's something I can say for every dungeon since as you'll see later on these kind of rooms appear more and more. Nonetheless though, in the next episode I'll be going through the next dungeon, the Beach Palace.
