A playthrough of a completed Zelda III romhack named, The Legend of Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom. This romhack was one of the earlier hacks for this game, as originally it was a hack called "The Legend of Zelda: Shards of Might" that was made around 2005 by SePH, Omega45889 and Dude Man. It was mainly made to showcase the dungeons that didn't get into Dark Prophecy, but it soon went into a private beta and never got past that stage. It would then be released as an abandoned hack on August 7th, 2009 and it would be picked up by another hacker named bregegrahf1, but would be abandoned again soon enough. After that, Puzzledude started to debug Shards of Might and it became Goddess of Wisdom, which released sometime in 2010 but got updated all the way up to v3.0 in 2011, which has been the final version of the game for quite some time.

In this episode, I grab the remaining heart pieces and I go through the last two dungeons, the Ice Palace and the Tower of Ganon. The Ice Palace is a really, really long dungeon which infamously includes one of the longest statue puzzles in the game. This statue puzzle the first time through was actually really rough for me on my first playthrough I did a while ago, but as proven I was able to get through it pretty quick in order to get through the rest of the dungeon. One thing that I have to say about this dungeon is that the aesthetic is super great. The whole dungeon really does feel like a penultimate dungeon, like for example the Parallel Tower from PW or Ganon's Tower in ALttP. It really does look great, and for 2011 I'd say this dungeon is pretty neat to go through. It does have a couple of annoying things, like for example the statue puzzle at the start and of course some of the red/blue blocks show up in some annoying places. But other than that, I think this dungeon is my favorite in the game despite how long it is. But anyways, at this point we have completely beaten The Legend of Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom v3.0!!!

Of course you may be thinking, what are my general thoughts about this game? Well honestly, I enjoyed it a lot more than my first playthrough, mainly because of the fact that I learned some tricks for certain sections of the game to make it go way faster. I say this mostly because when you don't know some of these tricks, the game can get really really tedious and sometimes annoying when you don't know how to do a certain part of the dungeon. I also think that the fake object mechanic is a cool mechanic introduced into the game, but I don't like how later on there isn't an indicator or a way to see the fake objects other than finding them through trial and error.

Another thing I do also want to talk about this game is the overworld, which I think is another good overworld made by SePH. For the most part a lot of the areas are really neat to go through, and the caves are pretty cool since most of them are redesigned, but the one thing that I do not like about this overworld is that there are some areas that you can only get to through caves. This is something that I feel like holds back the overworld a lot for me, and another thing I don't like about the overworld (at least at the start of the game) is the fact that you don't get the Pegasus Boots until much longer. This may not seem like too big of a deal, but in my opinion it is because this game's overworld is a bit boring to explore compared to PW's. Other than those complaints though, I do think that this game's overworld is still good, but it could have used a little more work to be even better.

The dungeons are also good, but some of them have some pretty major flaws, at least in my opinion. For one thing, some of the dungeons have some pretty unfair bossfights, like the Blind fight, Armos fight and the Ganon fight. The dungeons themselves also have a lot of red/blue block puzzles which requires you to backtrack if you have the wrong color switch, which at times can be pretty annoying. Like I said before too, some of the dungeons have some fake objects that are not indicated, which can be kind of annoying if you find out after like 30 minutes that there's a fake object you had no idea about. And of course, the last thing that I have to mention about this game are the infamous statue puzzles. Now, I will say that some of the statue puzzles in the game are kind of clever, but in my opinion they are just wayyy too tedious. It would be great if the statue puzzles were a lot shorter, but I digress. Other than those flaws though, I feel like a lot of the dungeons do still hold up, and when you learn how to go through them pretty fast I feel like they are a lot more fun than when you go through it on your first playthrough.

But yeah, all in all I have to say that I like this hack way more now, and I just want to thank Puzzledude, SePH, Omega45889, Dude Man, and bregegrahf1 for making this hack. But now, I will probably be starting up another hack very shortly, so stay tuned and thanks for watching!
