The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords {Main Series: Game 9/20} Final 15 Minutes
Multiplayer Gameplay: "Four Swords" was designed for multiplayer co-op gameplay. It allowed up to four players to team up and work together to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and progress through the game.
Two Modes: The game featured two different modes: "Hyrulean Adventure" and "Shadow Battle." "Hyrulean Adventure" was the main co-op mode where players worked together to complete levels. "Shadow Battle" was a competitive mode where players could face off against each other in various arenas.
Vatti Returns: The main antagonist of "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," Vatti, returned as the primary villain in "Four Swords."
Triforce Fragments: The plot revolved around rescuing six maidens and collecting the Triforce fragments to stop Vatti's evil plans.
DSi Version: In 2011, "The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition" was released for the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS systems to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary. It was available for free for a limited time.
Cooperative Gameplay: Players had to cooperate and coordinate their actions to progress in the game. Some puzzles required all players to work together simultaneously.
Limited Single-Player Mode: While designed for multiplayer, "Four Swords" did have a single-player mode where players controlled two Links independently. However, this mode lacked some of the features and depth of the multiplayer experience.
Link's Different Colors: To distinguish between the different players, each Link had a different color outfit (red, blue, green, and purple).
Limited Availability: Originally, "Four Swords" was only available as a bonus multiplayer mode included with "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords." However, with the DSi version's release, it became more widely accessible.
Legacy: "Four Swords" laid the groundwork for future multiplayer Zelda games, such as "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" for the Nintendo 3DS.
