The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Playthrough [2 of 2] - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Nintendo's 1998 action-adventure game for the Nintendo 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
This video is the second part of a two-part playthrough, showing from the beginning of the Water Temple through the end of the game. The first part can be found at https://youtu.be/HRY_9u2CTO0
Ocarina of Time is one of those games that starts out strong and ends even stronger. It's certainly not the "perfect" game that so many reviews claimed it to be when it came out (there's some unnecessary padding, and the Water Temple is just painful thanks to how often you have to change your boots), but what it did well hugely overshadowed the couple of rough spots.
I love the tone it takes on toward the end with the story of Hyrule's bloody past and the tangible evidence of it under Kakariko.
And the finale! Wow! The running up the castle stairways as organ music blares, the panicked escape sequence, the brilliantly dramatic way the final showdown plays out - I've yet to see a Zelda game with a more satisfying finish than this one had.
(And to these incarnations of Ruto and Saria, I say good riddance.)
Here are some time stamps if you'd like to jump to a specific spot:
00:50 The Water Temple
1:05:31 The Bottom of the Well
1:12:32 The Shadow Temple
2:16:53 The Spirit Temple
3:18:16 Sheik Explains It All
3:30:26 Gerudo Training Ground
3:53:57 Ganon's Castle
4:37:35 The final battle
4:41:31 The ending
At the final screen it will play a little tune every so often, in case you were wondering why I left it at that screen for so long before ending the video.
