We obtained the first of eight Essences of Nature. Now it's time for us to venture on. It's also here where we need to take a detour.
Before that though, we encounter a young witch named Maple. Her full name is Maple Syrup and she is an apprentice of Syrup. Why am I mentioning this? Because you will have to encounter her once you obtain the Lon Lon Egg. It's part of a trade sequence that you need to complete in order to obtain a powerful weapon. But in any other circumstance, you will have to race her to recoup your goods. That includes a Heart Piece.
Anyway, we need to find a portal that will take us to a different place, an underground place known as Subrosia. It's where we learn what happened to the Temple of Seasons. It got submerged after Din was crystallized. It's here we get our hands on the Rod of Seasons. This item is part of the game's main gimmick. You need to use the Rod of Seasons to change the seasons so you can solve puzzles and continue your journey. At the moment we have access to winter. Winter allows us to freeze lakes and reach higher areas due to snow.
It's going to help us reach the second dungeon, Snake's Remains. This is really wanting me to make a Snake's Revenge joke in there somewhere. The second dungeon isn't tough but we must press on.
Part 3 will have us gaining a new power. Summer sun awaits.
