The Legendary Axe was one of the most popular and critically well received games for the TurboGrafx-16. Developed by Victor Musical Industries, this was one of the very few games not directly ported by HudsonSoft. The premise of the game is simple, you are a warrior seeking to save your childhood friend from being sacrificed by a evil cult. You're given the Legendary Axe, a magical weapon that increase your strength and endurance, so you can save your friend and defeat the cult. Your axe has a power meter, press attack too often and you weaken your blows. Power ups you can collect to increase the power of your axe, restore your health, give you an extra life, or give you extra points. It is a challenging game with well tuned controls.
