The Lord of the Rings Online - testing my "new" computer on max settings with DX11
Added note: I don't know why, but the video quality looks rather poor to me and is not how the game looks. /shrug
It's been a while since I've been able to run on max settings without too much trouble; I still have load lag in heavier settings, such as Bree-town, but maybe not as bad as it has been (I need a new HDD). I'm also now capable of running DX11 (literally now as in today), so this is max with DX11 for my first time ever. Previously, I ran on ultra high with frills and shadows turned off to help reduce strain (also when DX10 shadows were all screwy) but as the computer got older and they kept adding more frills and crap to the game, plus the weird RAM issue with the game, I had to oftentimes run on low or sometimes very low if it was super crowded or the RAM issue was really bad. But, so far, that all seems to be a thing of the past (knock on wood).
I know I'm behind in tech, and this is no big deal to many folks, but it's a big deal to me for reasons I won't get into. Let's just say I didn't think I'd ever have a computer new enough to run DX11 (let alone DX12, which I think it can but not positive on that yet).
