Luke Hughes is the 16-year-old brother of the Vancouver Canucks' elite defenceman Quinn Hughes, and the New Jersey Devils' franchise centre playmaker Jack Hughes. With potential like Luke Hughes has, which could arguably be higher than that of what Quinn Hughes had when he was a 16-year-old, it's very easy to see why Luke Hughes would be a valued NHL prospect for the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
This begs the question for both Vancouver Canucks fans and New Jersey Devils fans; how awesome would it be to have two Hughes brothers?
However, the problem for Canucks fans arises when thinking about their 2021 first round pick. As a result of the JT Miller trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the 2019 NHL Draft, as well as the Blake Coleman trade that the Lightning made with the New Jersey Devils, one of the Canucks' upcoming first round picks belongs to the Devils. With New Jersey also in possession of their own first round pick, and potentially the Arizona Coyotes' first round pick in 2021 as well via the Taylor Hall trade conditions, things could be way more likely to swing in the Devils' favour in regards to acquiring the third Hughes.
