** SPOILER ALERT AND SOME OF MY VIEWS **

After jerryrigging up a device to send the First's Light into the Crystal Tower, then channel that through the Source into the Thirteenth's, Zero decided it was a good idea to try and eat some of the light first and it seemingly worked. How her gluttony will pay off, we shall see.

The Lunar Subterrane is the penultimate dungeon of FFIV where the themes _Baron Castle_ and _Inside the Giant_ is played and frankly, if you ask me and you must be doing that, it's a terrible TERRIBLE shame we don't have a FFXIV rendition here of Inside the Giant because that theme is so extraordinary good.

I was disappointed with that the Dark Elf didn't have any interesting mechanics. In FF4, you could not face the Dark Elf with metal weapons because you'd be instantly paralyzed. I remember that there was a trick to avoid that but, there's also a storyline reason one avoids that. Still, would had been nice to see it.

The flashback sequence part of the dungeon feels... ill-concieved. There's numerous of FF4 reference to be had like the area being referenced by name as Baron, which was the Kingdom of which Cecil came from and where you start the game in. I love that the Ahriman-enemies look just as they would in FF4, especially since the game already have plenty of such, to see this specific variation brings me joy. The Damcyan Antlion is the game's third or fourth boss that you get Edward the Bard to help you with after his kingdom of Damcyan was destroyed. But who the hell Durante is I cannot say, at least not without looking it up in a wiki and I shan't. It's just not a character who was in the game and I question his purpose aside from a Golbez stand-in.

By now it's obvious to us that our soul-shard in the Thirteenth wasn't Zero, it was Golbez and even here the 'Warrior of Light' was a beacon of hope in the dark days. Alas, unlike us who were almost consumed by Light, Golbez was unable to resist the dark influence of the Memoria attack. After all, no other shard of ours is as strong as we are for our soul consolidated in the Void for eons most likely until it was ready to be put on a carriage to one of the three major towns.

I hate this stupid story so much. It's a meek imitation and retelling of Greek mythology with the Warrior of Light being the Hercules of the story. Just makes me wanna rewatch Adventures of Hercules.. And yet.. I also love it. I hate this... duality in me.

I just wish that FFXIV would had remained a down-to-Earth story about adventurers and war. Not larger than life, pre-destination and past-godlike lives...
