The Magic of the Atari 2600: Check Out the Top 25 Games
Enjoy the top 25 Atari VCS/2600 games voted by thousands of fans across the internet. I dont personally agree with the countdown order and some of the games really made me question why I enjoyed playing them in the late 70's and early 80's.
Haunted House - WTF is that game about? I remember renting this from the local shop and keeping it for 2 weeks and loving the game. Replaying it... no clue what the hell I was doing.
Other games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Pitfall and Star Wars Return of the Jedi were just as good as I remember. Though other games were just a memory of a once great game that really sucks by today's standard of games. Pole Position was one of these. So loved as a kid, but hated now.
If you loved the Atari back in the day, then I would still urge you to try our some of the classic games on the list as it is a magical trip down memory lane, even if you can only stomach playing a few mins of them. Space Invaders I spent a goon hour on, as I did with Pac-Man.
Some of the multiplayer games were a bit hard to play like Combat and Warlord. Did try breakout, but without a paddle, it's impossible to play.
Still, it was great fun revisiting these classic old school games and somehow I wish I had kept my original console but sadly it went boom in about 1984 and sold my cartridges to a friend down the road. Good memories.
