The Mario Show NO ONE Remembers...
Ok so, Mario shows. When you hear the words Mario shows you probably think of this, or this, or maybe even this. But what if I told you that there was a Mario show that you probably don’t remember or that you maybe didn’t even know of. Hearing that might leave you confused or shocked, so allow me to talk about the Mario Show that no one remembers.
Alright so, back in 2015, 10 year old me was on my blue 3DS scrolling through the eShop. I can’t remember exactly why I was on the eShop, I think it might have been that I just really liked the 3DS’s eShop as it had so much personality but anyways, I ended up watching a bunch of different trailers for different games because why not.
Then after watching trailer after trailer I managed to stumble across The Cat Mario Show. I don’t why The Cat Mario Show was even on the eShop but it was and 10 or 11 year old me would watch it. Now before I started making this video I couldn’t remember much about this show and so I looked it up on YouTube and watched a few episodes and ummm, It is a weird show.
Puppet versions of Cat Mario and Cat Peach host each episode and each episode is roughly 8 minutes long. The very first thing I noticed when I went back and watched a few episodes was the voices of Cat Mario and Cat Peach and they are so incredibly irritating.
Nearly every episode starts with Cat Mario and Cat Peach trying to sell you a random first party game for the first two or so minutes. These games range from being Super Mario Maker for the Wii U to Pokémon Art Academy for the 3DS.
Then after the first two or so minutes one of the many different segments of the show would be shown. Sometimes Cat Mario and Cat Peach would just try sell you another game and by sell I mean they would just talk about a game and how amazing it is to try and get the 10 year old viewers to ask their parents for the game.
A segment of The Cat Mario show that appeared in every other episode was the ‘Become a Mario Expert’ segment. In this part of the show, Cat Mario and Cat Peach would give you tips and tricks on a random Mario game whether that be showing you shortcuts in Mario Kart 8 or telling you secrets about Super Mario 3D World.
Most of the stuff they would tell you was pretty obvious but when I went back and watched a few episodes I actually found out about some things that I didn’t know about, something I didn’t know was that in Super Mario 3D World, you could ground pound on other another players clone when they’re using a double cherry and you could make that your own clone, so I guess this section of the show wasn’t that bad.
Those were the two segments of the show that appeared the most but there were also quite a few other segments that didn’t appear too often and I wanna talk about them.
One of these sections was an untitled Smash Bros section in which Cat Mario and Cat Peach would go over a random fighter in Smash Bros 4 and talk about how good the character is.
Funnily enough, the first episode of The Cat Mario show that I watched 5 or so years ago had one of these smash bros sections, and in that smash bros section Link was in the spotlight. I owned Smash Bros for the 3DS just and played as Yoshi because I liked Yoshi but after seeing that Link had bombs and arrows and a sword and a really long grab, I started playing as Link. And to this day, I still main Link or Young Link but they’re basically the same.
The final segment of the show that I wanna go over is Bowser’s Baddie Bit and um, I don’t really know what to say about it so I’ll just let you watch it. Show Bowser’s Baddie segment. These Bowser segments are just really weird but once again, this show is for 10 year olds and so I shouldn’t be saying anything.
