0Toshi is stronger than Kena is able to handle at the moment. What's more, his corruption has stemmed not only from pain and anguish, but also from pride and anger. His spirit is strong and aggressive. The relics to help free him aren't in this realm either, they are in the spirit world. Each is guarded by a portion of his spirit and each represents a corrupting of a portion of the village. The first target is the Mask Maker, where we get to see the first parts of the role that Zaju played in the life of Toshi...
Whew! The Mask Maker! What an epic boss! Quite literally. There's nothing quite like going toe to toe with an angry spirit swordsman that can wreck you whenever he sees fit. Knowing that I am on the tail end of this game is sad, but seeing the step up in visuals and music surrounding the final scenes is incredible. The whole idea of fighting in the spirit realm is wonderful, with the dark and light elements really pressing the sense of danger and urgency into us. I've been invested in the story for a long while now, however, I can't wait to see how Toshi develops and what happens as we overcome the final hurdles of the game.
