The Mediocre Zone | Call of Cthulhu (2018) Yet another Cyanide disaster
Where to start from :
* you cannot jump ... its a context sensitive feature ... wait , what ??
* forced RPG to make you care about exploring this dull looking world ... for exp
* massive amounts of invisible walls ... then intelligent map design
* awful story stoppers
* mediocre animation and modelling ...
* guess they are stuck with 2003 visuals on this... with a dash of smeared motion blur and chromatic aberration to make it NEXT GEN of lulz
* Controls are made for Pads not Keyboard and mouse ... and you can feel it
* you cant use your hands or feet to kick or hit something... you have to hide like a little girl then be a grown strong man
* game boast about its non-linear experience depending on your choices ... but each one leads you to the same exact result ,making it all a pointless illusion ... when in later chapters they drop the interaction altogether
* from chapter 7 this game does a 180 and all of those fake chooses are thrown out of the window
* no manual saves , your forced to play on one save state with auto save ... to block you or irritate you ...
Like they sang in the Bar : They aren't Pros but gave all they could ... and a mediocre game it became ... like all theirs games before ... a company that only exist because they can milk each year theirs Pro Cycling Manager haha... making next games on a fixed low budget (something like City Interactive or Playway does lulz)
Better play "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" from 2005 then this turd... or "Dead Reefs" from 2007 ...
Sometimes its not about the graphics ... but its design ... and it falls flat ...
They don't mention the fact this game was Vaporware , was developed by two devs : Frogwares [the first 7 chapters] and Cyanide... and that its development time of 4 years was a awful mess , so much this game was cancelled by Focus Interactive ... but to not waste the money, they put in this project, in 2017 they gave it to Cyanide to finish it in a set fixed time frame of 1 year ... making it a awful mess with no creative vision ... the thing was, Frogwares wanted to reshape this game into a TPS Horror and escape the awful First Person POV Horror trend turning it into The Sinking City a TPS like Evil Withing with Cthulhu ... in the end , Focus gets a awfully mediocre Call of Cthulhu 2018 ... and Frogwares changed its Publisher to Bigben Interactive , to create this TPS made from assets of this game ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVniBORpxHM ...
