The MiG-29 Alpha at its limits in DCS: How high can it really go?
424Today I'm bringing you a very special flight in DCS World with the newly arrived MiG-29 Alpha in Early Access.
We're departing from the Severomorsk-3 airbase, in the heart of the Russian Arctic, under snow and low clouds. The objective is not only to launch the aircraft and navigate using instruments in these conditions, but also to take the MiG-29 to the limits of its operational ceiling. In this flight, we'll attempt to reach no less than 58,400 feet loaded with R-27ER missiles.
Once at altitude, the challenge will be to locate and destroy a Tupolev bomber located near waypoint number 2, always beyond visual range, to practice using radar and BVR weapons in extreme conditions. Finally, we'll return to land at Koshka Yavr, relying solely on the onboard navigation systems.
In this video, you'll see how I fly it solo, pushing the MiG-29 to its limits and testing the climbing capabilities of this iconic Soviet fighter. Later, I'll share the mission on the Patreon community, along with the data cartridge needed so you can upload the waypoints correctly.
