Quick guide to discuss a quick swapping technique originally pioneered by bryi0: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouZnFkpq0Lg.
As a matter of fact if you're familiar with my gameplay, you might know that I exploit it pretty much every time I use the lock on, especially in its quick swap variation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_k7ZgLTXXw.
To do the trick, you only need to press the mod swap button immediately after you fire, then switch to a different weapon (otherwise you'll simply swap mods, obviously).
Here I'm investigating a bit its possible uses when it comes to sticky bombs and especially ballista.
About the first, it's very important that you check bowsr's video about the crit state implementation in DOOM Eternal if you haven't already (which is what it is, I guess): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlMwFleIqp4&t=1s.
Since it's very easy to hit an headshot with at least a pellet from an ssg shot, quick swapping sticky bombs into it pretty much guarantees that sweet double damage.
