It’s rare to see a Pyro using the Dragon’s Fury in Team Fortress 2 (TF2) because many players mistakenly believe that the weapon is simply bad. However, this Team Fortress 2 (TF2) video guide seeks to discuss some of the positives and negatives of the Dragon’s Fury as well as how Pyro players can use it to its fullest potential! The Dragon’s Fury is also compared to Pyro’s more standard weapons like the Degreaser and the stock Flamethrower. Furthermore, some advice on how to deal with certain Team Fortress 2 (TF2) classes and situations is given, and these tips and tricks should definitely improve your Pyro gameplay and enable you to have lots of fun in TF2!
The Dragon’s Fury is a unique unlockable flamethrower for the Pyro class in Team Fortress 2 (TF2) and it fires a projectile instead of a normal spray of flames. Since the Dragon’s Fury fires a high-damage fireball instead of a constant stream of flames, it allows Pyro players to burst enemies down with extremely high close and medium range damage. The projectile from the Dragon’s Fury also has an exceptionally high range compared to Pyro’s normal stock Flamethrower.
Hitting subsequent fireballs on an enemy player grants increased firing speed as well as vastly increased damage, which can be extremely beneficial for experienced Pyro players in Team Fortress 2 (TF2). However, the fireball projectile is quite buggy and inconsistent, making it harder to use than the standard stock Flamethrower or the Degreaser.
This guide does offer some ways to improve the consistency of the Dragon’s Fury projectile, although the weapon is inherently inconsistent and requires some practice to use effectively.I think that the Dragon’s Fury could be one of the most underrated weapons in Team Fortress 2!
I rarely see Pyros using the Dragon’s Fury and I just assumed that the weapon was terrible because of the airblast speed penalty and the inconsistent fireball projectile. After actually using it for several weeks, I believe that the Dragon’s Fury is worth using. It’s not a bad weapon for Pyros and it’s incredibly fun to use! I would say that it’s one of the most fun weapons in Team Fortress 2 and certainly one of the most enjoyable weapons for Pyro!
