The Mother of Link | a Legend of Zelda short film
327Growing up, my siblings and I were big fans of 1998’s The legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. As a child, the discovery of this new form of storytelling in games was really fascinating. One particular thing that always stuck out to me was a point in the game when you discover that Link was a Hylian and was saved by his mother.
As a filmmaker I always thought that a live action short film of this story would make an interesting passion project, but since we had already made a Zelda video I wrote it off as something I probably wouldn’t ever work on.
Recently though, my brother suggested that we should take a look at our old Zelda footage to see if we could make a short film out of our existing assets, and I thought it was an interesting idea and decided to give it a try. This video is what we came up with.
