I think everyone's favorite Zelda game is whichever one they played first. Nothing beats experiencing it for the first time. For me, Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game. I was blown away by the HUGE world (it was huge for the time it came out OK :) and the awesome fantasy characters settings. Sword fighting a huge variety of fantasy villains and creatures with tons of fantasy weapons at my disposal was so much fun. The thing that stuck out to me most, however, was how much I felt a part of the story and how much it sucked me in. I could travel back and forth through time, how awesome is that? Who the heck is this Sheik character? Ganondorf was such an intimidating villain. Ocarina of Time is still to date my absolute favorite video game experience of all time. Every single one of the Zelda games could make an absolutely incredible movie. The worlds and characters Nintendo designed are absolutely wonderful and the stories in each game would be an awesome backbone to the plot of the corresponding film.

How awesome would it be if Nintendo decided to make a live action Legend of Zelda movie! If they did it right, in a similar scope and feel as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, how epic would it be!? In my mind, it would be as big as the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Harry Potter franchise! It would be so important to get it right though! You couldn’t just copy the game and put it on the screen, you’d need to capture the spirit of it. That is why it is so difficult to get video game movies right...a good video game story is different from a good movie story. You’d need to adapt the world, the characters and the story in a few ways to make it fit a movie screen timing and script, but you’d absolutely have to remain faithful to the intentions and spirit of the source material! There are many different possibilities to do that. For example, some have suggested making Princess Zelda the main character so that Link could remain a mysterious figure who doesn’t speak very much (and I think that could be an awesome route to go).
