The Plot Darkens | World Of The Nerd Couple S2E01
1Circa May 20, 2017. The return of World Of The Nerd Couple after the nerds' vacation featured a new intro as well as a much darker plot as corporate office drama and anxiety started to become more of a central theme in the series as the company's growth and prosperity stalled. This episode also deals with the issue of demanding someone's trust versus earning it.
This was a satire of the eroding trust and office politics I was dealing with at the time that eventually led to me stepping down from my last technical role and just doing regular warehouse work before a round of layoffs. The roots of that all began earlier - much earlier. đ
This episode also introduced Toby The Sports Bar Stud and continued the story of Cindy The HR Lady and her constant struggle between that classic Millennial struggle of a "successful" job versus a "fulfilling" job. Likewise with the story of Sherilyn turning negative and assuming the worst from people despite her role requiring her to become more of a people person.
I said this series was like a Plotagon soap opera. Season 2 was where the drama really cranked up. đ
