1Circa June 1, 2017. This episode concluded the original run of World Of The Nerd Couple with Vice President Larry's resignation in lieu of more positive leadership that managed the team a lot more constructively.
By this point I thought I had written myself into a corner with the nerd couple working at a corporate campus so I decided to reboot everything later, with what's now known as Season 3. Plotagon also changed their feature set as well lol. đ
Thus, with the changing world of cringey internet cartoons at the time, I figured a corporate satire that was a sad knockoff of The Office just didn't do the job with World Of The Nerd Couple lol. đ
I had to end on a positive note though, especially with how absurdly dark the plot had become. Plus the plot getting more dramatic and darker in Season 2 was a secret reference to the old show Lie To Me, a show I used to watch back at the beginning of the 2010s. đ
Some of Vice President Larry's resignation speech was also inspired by Prime Minister David Cameron's resignation after the UK's Brexit vote lol. đ Ahhhhhhhh allegory. đ
Speaking of which, this cartoon is a satire of the usefulness of empathy and building others up instead of tearing them down in management. đ Vinnie wasn't supposed to be a reference to Ronald Reagan, but the Reagan Carter "It's Morning' thing kind of slipped in. đ Some of the satire is pointed at a leadership clash I was aware of at the time regarding developing talent versus using "accountability" to be abrasive to it. đ
