A month ago, news broke that shocked the Pokemon Card Community when it was told that a Pokemon Card Reprint was in the works for one of the most loved sets of all time - Pokemon 151. Scarlet and Violet 151's Japanese equivalent has been extremely popular since before it even released. With Pokemon 151 Booster Boxes selling for over double MSRP even before release, Pokemon Card Collectors have been struggling to find affordable offerings to open this set.
One of the biggest factors of its price increase was the hope among Pokemon Card Investors that the box would continue to see price increases with shorter print runs and increased demand. That, along with the release of the "Master Ball" Reverse Holo have caused a huge increase in demand with supply strugging to keep up. However, when the Pokemon 151 reprint was announced, many Pokemon Card resellers have been forced to start dumping their excess inventory knowing that prices would plummet when the reprint arrived.
Pokemon 151 singles have also taken a hit with the understanding that more supply will hit the market. In today's video, we take a look at the drop in Pokemon 151 singles and how they correlate to the cost of a booster box. It appears that the "fun cost" of opening a Pokemon 151 Booster Box has become much better with the reprint announcement.
