What exactly is the PROBLEM with Total War DLC and expansions? Ever since Total War began publishing expansions and dlc, it's all been about two things: creating entirely or mostly new campaigns with new theaters of war, with a mixture of new and old factions - OR about providing new playable versions of factions that were previously unplayable. But almost never has Total War DLC been about actually improving and revamping the overall main grand campaign experience, meaning to enhance and deepen the original game's campaign, by adding entirely new mechanics, revamping old systems, and bringing new features to this first grand campaign of each game. And I'm not talking about polish or bug fixing here.

In my opinon, Creative Assembly needs to take a look at its outdated DLC philosophy. While it might be fun to bring new factions WITH new unique faction mechanic to the game, I desperately wish CA would begin to focus on making updates that enhance the campaign experience for EVERY faction, just like Paradox does with its games. But what do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and tell me what you think Total War DLC should look like going forward!
