Campaign Map Modding is finally seeing the dawn break, and the sun may soon shine! The news coming out of the mod team for Dawnless Days is nothing short of revolutionary in terms of Total War games. Now, the team has cracked the code for how to actually make the AI understand a newly formed map, which in turn enables an actual campaign to be played.

There are several amazing aspects to this. Not only will this mean that we're almost guaranteed to see a fully fledged Lord of the Rings Total War mod for Attila, see a new campaign map for Medieval Kingdoms 1212, BUT, because of the nature of the modding tool, that we might also see new campaign maps for Rome 2, the Warhammer games, Thrones of Britannia, and even Troy and Three Kingdoms. I keep saying this but I think this remains amazing news, and I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I mean it - the future of Total War modding has rarely looked brighter.
