The Real Role of Jolt in Transformers 2. Jolt's Real Role & Personality in Transformers 2. Known as the unnoticeable robot, Jolt was the epitome of an underutilized character. He with the exception of a few scenes such as the 1 where he helps charge up Jetpowered Optimus. Apparently he was a last-minute addition to the film during the four-month rush to get a script done after the Writers Guild strike. And the writers had to convince Bay that Jolt would feel like a true member of the main Autobot roster. Which is why he would only appear in robot mode in three scenes of the movie. And he would only get 1 name shout-out, and had no speaking lines. But apparently he was gonna have a much greater role and a personality. He would be an upbeat and mischievous robot who liked to pull pranks. Although he never spoke in the film, it was being reported that Anthony Anderson who had previously played Glenn Whitmann in Transformers 2007. Was to voice the late-joining Autobot. Which would've been the perfect match to go with Jolt's ubeat persona.
