In this video I discuss the brand new renown system in Black Desert Online. The renown system is a brand new system which rewards players for achieving certain gearscore tiers. However, rather than fixing the existing gear disparity between players, the new renown system instead stretches the gap even further rendering all but the strongest players incapable of challenging players above softcap. Skill means nothing in the face of overwhelming gearscore now and the amount of gearscore required to become drastically stronger than other players has drastically diminished, further pulling apart the gap between siege guilds and regular nodewar guilds.

Renown Score gives you+2 ap for each new Renown tier you reach at 88, 163, 211, 252, 293, 334, 375, 416, 457, and 470 points capping at +20 AP.
Renown Score also gives you an extra +1 DR at 68, 123, 191, 232, 272, 313, 351, 395, 436, and 463 points.
Renown Score then continues to give another +5 DR at 470, 477, 484, 491, 497, 504, 511, 518, 525, 532, 538, 545, 552, 559, 566, 572, 579, 589, 593, 600, 613, 620, 634, 641, 647 points, capping at +165 DR.

There is also additional AP earned at key AP only milestones at 100, 140, 170, 184, 209, 235, 245, 249, 253, 257, 261, 265, 269, 273, 277, 281, 285, 289, 293, 297, 301, 305, and 309 AP respectively, capping at +200 AP.

Finally there is also additonal DR earned based on your DP gaining a 1% extra DR buff for each tier and capping at 20%. It starts at 203
