I remember a friend my mine tried picking up the Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy series, and said he stopped at book 2. After reading I can see why. First one was okay, this one I found disturbing and also pretty boring. Unlike the first book which made me chuckle, here I didn't get a single laugh. In fact I was disturbed by certain sections, like the poor passengers being held against their will, and the implication humans were over taken by a race of idiots. I had a hard time finishing this, and regret that I bought the entire trilogy of 5. At this point I have no drive to read the rest. For those of you that liked this series, I'd be very interested to hear your perspective.
