With most book reviews, I like to make 1 video covering the whole book. However with a book this massive, I'm doing a review of each "part". I'm currently on part 4, so expect a review for parts 2 and 3 coming up in the next few weeks. As for the book itself, it covers a dark time in American History that most people would want to forget. As such I'm not sure if the book itself is going through erasure as well. If you this review gets you interested in the book, a huge disclaimer. This book is anything but politically correct. Huckleberry Finn has been criticized heavily for it's frequent use of the N-word. This book uses that word far more often, and also plays into negative stereotypes. Plus there is the depiction of slavery which is a whole other can of worms. If you can get through all that, I can say it's a tad on the descriptive side, but once the setting is in place the story starts to take off. Part 2 and 3 is were the real story is, while part 1 shows how the area was like before the war struck. So yeah, hopefully I navigated through the Mind field, that is part 1 of this book. Until next time, keep having fun.
