The Rise and Fall of Burnout
3Not many racing video game franchises brought out the excitement in crashes and destruction that Criterion Games' Burnout franchise did. From it's inception in 2001, it's breakout game in 2004, and the continuing evolution of the franchise thereafter, Burnout had brought in a level of excitement for those that just loved crashing into other cars and dominating races on the street. So what has happened to it since it's last release in 2011, and why is Criterion no longer interest in making Burnout games?
This video will look at the beginnings of the Burnout franchise, all of the games that were released and it's untimely demise, and look at the new racing franchise that has the chance of becoming it's spiritual successor.
