In this Let's Play video, I will be playing The Royal Writ (Steam Next Fest). The Royal Writ is a Medieval Ruler Roguelike Strategy Turn Based game with Card Deck Building mechanics. There is a meta progression for unlocks with possible roguelite elements. The Royal Writ shares similar game mechanics as 9 Kings, None Shall Intrude, As We Descend, Songs of Silence, Across The Obelisk, Guards 2: Chaos In Hell, Stray Path, Slay the Spire, Knights in Tight Spaces, Monster Train 2, LONESTAR, StarVadars, Plants vs Zombies, Master of Piece, Darkest Dungeon, Space Prison, Kingdom's Deck, The King Is Watching, and Becoming Saint. You are the King and must rule your kingdom by making tough choices and sacrifices. Send your army of peculiar characters out to keep your kingdom in check. Traverse the kingdom map making choices along the way and battle enemies that stand in your way. You place unit cards on a lane starting on the left side of the board to deal damage each turn to the enemy as they move towards the right. Each unit cards has 2 main stats. A Power Damage Value (blue) or a Multiplier Damage Value (red). Your attack damage is calculated by multiply the red number with the blue number. Each enemy you face has a Health Number and your Total attack damages needs to bring this number down. As your unit marches towards your enemy on the right, they will do damage when you hit the Attack button (ends your turn). If your unit reaches the enemies side of the board without any space to move they will die if the enemy is still alive. If you're into card deck building games, I highly recommend this game. It's fantastic.
