The sequel to the classic arcade and NES title Elevator Action. Released in 1994, 11 years after the original arcade release of Elevator Action, Taito revived the run-and-gun classic and took it to another level. Bearing a 90’s anime art style, new weapons, levels, and three playable characters, Elevator Action took the arcades by storm. Only released on the Sega Saturn in Japan, but also appears in the Taito Legends 2 collection on PlayStation 2.

Released in North America and Europe as ‘Die Hard Arcade’, this beat 'em-up action game is a must-have for any Sega Saturn owner. Inspired by the Die Hard movies and featuring the actual IP for some regional releases, players must fight through a building filled with bad guys that have taken the president’s daughter hostage. Featuring punches, grabs, and weapons ranging from brooms to bazookas, anybody can pick up Dynamite Deka and have an absolute blast playing it. Released exclusively on Sega Saturn, and later a sequel on Dreamcast known as Dynamite Deka 2.
Street Fighter Zero 3 (Sega Saturn)

Known outside of Japan as Street Fighter Alpha 3, it moved the Street Fighter series in a new direction. Abandoning the traditional ‘auto’ and ‘manual’ control sets, Street Fighter Zero 3 introduced an entirely new fighting system using “ISMs”. This allowed players to use different abilities and move layouts than their opponents to create new advantages and disadvantages. Street Fighter Zero 3 was widely praised by fans and is still loved to this day. At the time of its Saturn and PlayStation release, the Japan-only Saturn version was near arcade perfect with the use of the 4MB RAM expansion cart.
Princess Crown (Sega Saturn)

Although not a direct sequel, Princess Crown was released in 1997 on the Sega Saturn and was the spirit predecessor of Dragon’s Crown on PS4. Released only in Japan by Atlus, Princess Crown was highly praised for its art and visuals while mixing role-playing elements with traditional beat 'em-up action. Princess Crown was later ported to PlayStation 4 and the PSP, but never received localization outside of Japan.
