The SHADOW.EXE demo on Demo Disc SCED-02417 fully working
8Axedim90s once again told me about this mysterious hidden demo on this demo disc that for a long time I was already aware of its existence.
To solve this mystery, I dug in and looked at the demo's main execuatble (DD\MAIN.EXE) and saw that the link to this hidden executable is not written inside, meaning that this demo cannot be accessed through various means.
And so, much like with the hidden Ultra Cheats demo on Demo One Version 7 before Romaric LARBI discovered it via a Gameshark code that he did not remember and how his discovery was documented in a blogpost he made before he unknowingly deleted it, I decided to hex edit the executable, replaced the path for the Spyro 2 demo (SPYRO2\SPYRO2.exe) within the exe with the path for this demo (SHADOW\SHADOW.EXE), saved it, patched the exe into the image, launched the hacked demo disc, started the Spyro 2 demo as if it still were Spyro 2, and BEHOLD............
It's a tech demo of sorts featuring two triangles (One big rainbow-colored and one little yellow) inside a gray square with a teal background, with the little yellow triangle flying around to cast a shadow behind the big rainbow triangle.
Controls:
L1: Activate Rainbow Triangle
R1: Activate little yellow triangle
X and A: Rotate the square down and up respectively.
Square and Circle: Rotate the square left and right respectively.
L2 and R2: Roll the square left and right respectively.
SELECT: Quits (It does go back to the demo selection screen)
