The Story Behing the Resident Evil Director's Cut: Dual Shock Edition
Although Auto's theme from Mega Man 7 is up there as one of the worst video game songs ever, a number of people pointed out a major oversight. Resident Evil: Director's Cut Dual Shock Edition serenades you with the sweet sounds of spastic keyboard mashing from beginning to end, particularly in the resident evil mansion basement theme, and the story behind its creation is just as awful.
Mamoru Samuragochi was a composer who was being hailed as "Japan's Beethoven." He got this nickname due to the story of him being a deaf composer. As such a rising start in the Japanese music scene, it's no wonder the Capcom would jump at the chance to have him compose a new and improved soundtrack for the latest version of its runaway hit game, Resident Evil. You have to wonder what they thought when he turned in this work for Resident Evil: Director's Cut Dual Shock Edition.
As it would turn out years later, not only was Mamoru Samuragochi faking his condition, he was also faking his compositions. He had been employed ghost writers for years to make his music. These ghostwritten compositions include the entire Resident Evil Dual Shock soundtrack. That means that two people got paid to write this thing!
Ultimately, it's probably fitting that Mamoru Samuragochi might be best remembered for what is one of the worst soundtracks of all time, Resident Evil DualShock OST
