16The Terminator is a character from the 1984 sci-fi film of the same name. In a post apocalyptic future, a hostile Artificial Intelligence (AI) named 'Skynet' had decided that humanity posed the greatest risk to its survival. It responded by attempting to make mankind extinct. It launched nuclear warheads across the globe and manufactured various models of machines to hunt down and destroy any remaining human resistance. The Terminators were designed to be assassins and scoured battlefields as endoskeletons. The most advanced model was the T-800. It's extremely durable endoskeleton was covered in living organic tissue to appear human and be more effective at infiltrating human resistance strongholds. As the war raged on, the humans were able to gain the upper hand, thanks in large part to their commander John Conner. In a last ditch effort to save itself, Skynet sent a Terminator back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill John Conner's mother - Sarah Conner. The resistance was able to send one of their soldiers back in time as well, with mission to protect John's mother from harm. His name was Kyle Reese. Terminators are known for being especially hard to kill and will not stop until their mission is complete regardless of damage inflicted upon them. They're also known to posses detailed files on human anatomy, weapons and fire arms and other subjects. They can change their voice to mimic speech patterns and have power cells that can last for 120 years.
Arnold Schwarzennegger has played a T-800 Terminator in all 6 films in the franchise.
