Huh... I guess I gave the series a really "Sentai Final Battle" in this version, yeah? It's not something I was consciously thinking about when I was writing it. The "Child taxidermy" aspect was lifted directly from Brotherhood of the Wolf more than anything. But it sure feels substantially Sentai-ish when I'm looking back on it. They're doing the thing where they combine power sources of multiple animalistic things (and one of the things belongs to a dead rival "Ranger" and was more or less inherited by another "Ranger" as an act of redemption) to turn them into a different thing that's functional just long enough to deliver the final shot.

On a related note: Isn't it neat how TimeRanger is kind of like a darker sci-fi retelling of the events of ZyuRanger? Both shows use the "Heroes removed from their own time" motif. The rivalry/redemption story between the Red Ranger and the Sixth Ranger mirror each other in both shows. The little detail where the Pink Ranger is the highest-ranking member on both teams (once you factor in ZyuRanger's various plot twists, Mei's the only one who's a legitimate royal princess). And then Zenkaiger came along 20 years later and just straight up said "Hey? You know Dragon Caesar and V-Rex? Totally the same dude."

The part that WAS intentional is how it's also a very "Sword Art Online Season 1 Final Battle." I mean, how it's the kind of battle that makes you go "Wait... is this going to be the final boss? It's happening right now? Re-.. really? Uhhh, okay then."
