A complete playthrough of Metro3D's 2004 PlayStation port of Cinemaware's license-based minigame collection, The Three Stooges.

Played through on the default options.

Does this for some reason seem familiar to you? If it does, it's probably because it's seriously a port of a GBA port of the 1987 Cinemaware game for the Amiga 500, which was later ported to the NES in 1989. More absurd is that what was already a content-light game back in the late 80s is incredibly paltry by 2004 standards. Granted, it was a budget release, but when it plays equal to the NES version, actually has things cut from the original Amiga version, and is badly scaled with uneven, chunky pixels showing everywhere, well. What is there to say, really?

This would have been cool in 1990 for a console release, but even as a budget release at the end of the PlayStation's commercial life, it was a little too ballsy to sell this as a new, fully featured game in 2004. I would seriously prefer playing the NES version over this.

If you'd like to see the NES version to compare for yourself, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG_KSoleEjk

One last thing - that annoying solid-colored bar at the right of the screen most of the game is not a recording mistake - that really shows throughout most of the game unless you play it on a CRT that disguises the outer 8pixels of the screen border. Ugh.
