The Train: Escape to Normandy C64 Sundays Rank 82
Ranked number 82 (as of August 31st 2014 with a score of 8.33) on the lemon64 top 100 is The Train: Escape to Normandy. This is an "on rails" shooter. Actually there is very little shooting while moving except when you fight some planes so that's a bit of a lie. Its a shooter where you have to take over railway stations to get your train that you've stolen from the Nazis back to Normandy with it's precious cargo of art. This game was published by Accolade in 1987/88 (depending on your source) and was designed by Rick Banks and Paul Butler (Paul also did the music) The Graphics are by Grant Campbell and the Programming was done by J Stuart Easterbrook and Lise Mendoza.
Really I'm not good at this game at all, I think the difficulty on Easy is still way too hard, perhaps there is a little randomness on where a shot from a gunboat hits your train but I could never destroy four of them before it was too late. It's quite the challenge but it's a well made game, I would recommend reading the instructions on the c64 wiki before giving this game a try, but it's worth the go if you do.
