Chapter 2 begins with Ava in discussion with T.O.M., the onboard A.I. regarding the missing crew members. Chris died due to some unknown accident that T.O.M. doesn't explain. I have my suspicions. For the remaining crew, their chances of survival should be high considering the food supply systems are still in tact.
The puzzle increase in difficulty ever so slightly, introducing walkways that can retract and slide. Timed switches and pressure plates are also introduced. Correct usage of plasma ball vs. plasma cube comes into play. As the test chambers grow in size, more rooms open up new possible combinations to solve the puzzles.
A restricted area at the end of the level contains a motion-detected light bridge. I must use small movements in order to cross successfully. But the hard work pays off when I unlock the achievement for A Polite Conversation. I interact with a computer terminal that thinks I'm a robot.
The principle of the Turing Test is further explained as T.O.M. gives an example of passing notes written in Chinese to a person in another room. In another conversation, could you tell if you were speaking to a computer or to a human?
In the crews quarters, Ava looks through personal items of the other crew members. Sarah Brooke has taken a liking to T.O.M. and discusses her feelings on Alan Turing and The Turing Test. Sarah's diary recites her thoughts on reaction diffusion systems and nature and biology.
Mikhail discovers that all crew members have implants embedded inside them, perhaps a mind-control device.
Join me as I walkthrough these puzzles for the first time and guide Ava along the path in search for answers. The Turing Test video game smartly takes it name and inspiration from the real life Turing tests, developed by Alan Turing.
