The Turtleminator is a homebrew game made by a single developer in 1999, pretty late for an Amiga title. The game plays similarly to Cannon Fodder, but is much more fast paced. You units can also take far more damage than in Cannon Fodder. The game has a neat feature where you shell is invulnerable, and can reflect bullets, which can be used to both protect yourself and to reflect bullets back and kill enemies.

The game is quite enjoyable to play for a while, but after a while the stages starts getting a bit too long and punishing. I like the general design, and how the different mechanics are utilised, but you have to spend a bit too much time either repeating the same segments, or waiting for enemies to kill themselves by bouncing bullets of of you.

But the game is very well executed, and quite well made. Should one play it, I would recommend savestating though.
