This documentary examines the paradox of being a successful male model, booked for magazine spreads and fashion shows across the world, while also being part of an industry that views Asian American men as emasculated and outside the boundaries of classic American beauty standards. Honest, eye-opening, and thoughtful, THE UGLY MODEL is a challenge to conventional norms, an investigation into whether beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, and the reclaiming of the definitions of masculinity.
