This map always makes me nervous when I play it because of the huge amount of enemies; Doom Wiki says it has the most in any Ultimate Doom map. This actually turned out to be a good thing in a pistol start run though, since the large amount of hitscanners means you’ll effectively never run out of ammo.
The trickiest spots, pistol start or not, are the big ambushes near the start and at the end, but there’s thankfully safe spots in both of them. The maze can also be tricky to navigate, but I learned that if you go left at any opportunity except for if you can’t (go right instead) you’ll make your way through it just fine.
