Holy shit!

The only reason this map isn’t the hardest in the game is because Perfect Hatred exists, but this is a VERY close second. It’s the smallest map in the game, and if you activate the NIN secret by the blue key like I did, you have to deal with around 5-6 Barons of Hell on really thin walkways with not enough ammo to kill them all individually. I lucked out and gathered them all in one corner so I could blast them all at once, but even then one survived—would’ve been a UV Max run otherwise.

I would say avoid wasting ammo on the Barons until there’s no other enemies left. The shotgun guy ambush at the beginning will give you a lot of ammo to work with, and the frequent teleport ambushes you’ll have to deal with will also leave you a lot of ammo. Take out the imps and shotgun guys first because there’s loads of them.

The NIN secret is also a tricky one because standing on it will raise walls around you. Lure the barons far away from it first, then step inside and you can trigger the secret and lower the walls. I found that actually triggering it was finicky, Doom Wiki says it’s the area around the letters that does it but it took me a solid minute or so to do it.
