This is the run I’m most proud of, somehow I did it in about five attempts and nailed the second half of the map in one try. Pretty much anyone will tell you Perfect Hatred is the hardest map in the game, and like Hell Beneath you’re dealing with several Barons of hell in tight spaces. You know a map is hard when the Cyberdemon is the least threatening thing in it!

The beginning is a lot harder on a pistol start since you have a whole mob of Cacodemons floating towards you without the rocket launcher you’d normally get from Hell Beneath. The map does give you enough health and ammo to deal with the Cacodemons, but you don’t have much room. You’ll have to use all of your shotgun ammo and even your pistol, then hop down to grab the radiation suit, supercharge, and ammo up the staircase so you can unload the rest of it into them. Thankfully that’s really the only difference in a pistol start run.

The hardest spots in the map after that are the raised area where you get the plasma rifle, and the narrow caves where you have to deal with barons, Cacodemons, and spectres. As long as you move constantly and are aware of your surroundings, you should be able to react all around you and hopefully not get pegged by an offscreen Baron blast. After that, the end of the level is pretty easy. Telefrag the Cyberdemon and use the BFG to kill the rest of the Cacodemons. If there’s one thing that can be said about this map, getting a UV-Max is at least pretty easy, since you basically need to kill everything in the map anyways.
