This is another map I struggled with at first until I realized a good strategy for it. Obviously you should have a good route planned because of the confusing teleporters and the maze in the top left corner, but there’s another reason for this: you will not have enough ammo to kill the Pinkies and Cacodemons until you stock up a bit.
Luckily, in the blood maze there’s a BFG, and you can score a rocket launcher and plasma rifle in two of the secret areas. I would say don’t even bother trying to kill the Cacodemons and Pinkies (unless they’re right in front of you) until it’s time to get the yellow key. By that point you should be well armed enough to kill them without too much trouble. I wasn’t expecting to pull off a UV-Max run here, but I’ll take it.
