The Unholy Trinity's Brandon Lessard on Working with Samuel L. Jackson & Pierce Brosnan
What do Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, and James Stewart have in common? They all got their start in the Western genre, with their gunslinging, horseback-riding roles cementing them as leading men. While Western movies are fewer and further between nowadays, they still remain one of the most enduring genres — and are having something of a revival now, especially with Taylor Sheridan’s TV dominance. Could Brandon Lessard, who stars in Richard Gray’s The Unholy Trinity, see his career catapulted in the same way as the aforementioned legends? I wouldn’t rule it out.
Lessard plays a young man named Henry Broadway on the hunt for revenge after his father’s (Tim Daly) death, though as he attempts to carry out this justice, it quickly becomes clear that not everything is quite as it seems. The town sheriff (Pierce Brosnan) and a treasure-hunting outlaw who knew Henry’s father (Samuel L. Jackson) both complicate matters, making Henry see the situation in a whole new light and struggle to figure out who he can trust. A frequent collaborator with Gray, Lessard previously appeared in his films Broken Glass, Robert the Bruce, and Murder at Yellowstone City. He also appeared in another Western, 2022’s The Redeemer.
Collider got the chance to speak to Lessard about what he learned from working with Jackson and Brosnan, the film’s most difficult stunts, the message he hopes people take away from the movie, and more.
